Second Moon is an intimate cultural platform and event series created to celebrate the immigrant experience — whether first or second generation — through panels, music, art, and gatherings rooted in conversation and connection.
The name speaks to duality, distance, and quiet defiance — a symbol for those who live between cultures, shaped by what they come from and reaching for what they might become.
Launched in honour of Asian Heritage Month with the Ace Hotel, this first edition centers around South and East Asian voices, while inviting anyone shaped by the immigrant experience to come listen, share, and relate.
At its core, Second Moon honours those who had to break the hearts of parents, society, or culture — in order to break the cycles they were born into. Though we may come from different places, we carry many of the same questions, pressures, and dreams. Second Moon exists to hold those truths — and to turn them into dialogue, understanding, and new ways of belonging.
