SLOW SERIES: Curry J. Hackett ‘Re-Forming The Image: A Collage Walk’

  • 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm | Saturday October 10, 2026
  • The Lobby | Ace Hotel Brooklyn
  • 51 Camden St.
  • 免费

Join us for an architectural walk and collage workshop with multimedia artist, educator and current 2026 Artist-in-Residence Curry J. Hackett.

Guests will learn to tell stories by remix archival images, photos, and ephemera from the artist-in-residence to develop their own reimaginings of Gowanus and downtown Brooklyn. A walk will begin at design nonprofit Van Alen’s office and gallery, and culminate at Ace Hotel Brooklyn for a brief discussion on the work. Using collage as a method, guests will then put the methods that Hackett employed in the residency to create speculative stories of the land observed along the walk.

What’s Included:

  • All collage material included printed matter, scissors, glue, paper

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Water Bottle

Disclaimer

Please note this is a 0.6 mile walking tour from Boerum Hill to Downtown Brooklyn along paved, but sometimes uneven sidewalks.
