Efficient Space presents a rare live performance from Tokyo’s 5AM at Ace Hotel Sydney on Sunday 15 January 2023.
A supergroup of sorts, 5AM unites adulthood friends 5ive (Cos/Mes), multidisciplinary designer Andry Adolphe and DJ/producer Momoko Goto, aka Powder. Responsible for the sleeper album of 2021, Pre Zz, the trio’s woozy oddball synth enshrines the post-party afterglow with eyes barely open. A languid and unquestionably characteristic update on Japanese avant-technopop while faintly winking at Donnie and Joe Emerson.
5AM play one of their first live shows at the Ace Hotel Sydney lobby on Sunday 15 January 2023, with selections from Efficient Space label head Noise In My Head. 7PM-10PM. Free entry.
