With a project space in Desert Hot Springs, Known Gallery is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to showcasing emerging and established artists. It seeks out diverse and innovative expressions of visual culture across the mediums of painting, sculpture, mural and experimental practices. Through its deep local and global creative networks, the gallery presents exhibitions, public installations and artist-driven projects.
Stevie Shao
Stevie Shao is a Seattle-born and -raised artist and muralist, whose work draws inspiration from the relationships we share with animals and our environment. Stevie’s paintings depict real and folkloric imagery in scenes that evoke the mysticism of the natural world. Working in a variety of acrylic paints and swaths of color and pattern, she reflects an environment constantly in motion and filled with symbolism.
