DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to present KYOTO\, a solo exhibition by Noritake\, on view from August 1 through October 31. \nDuring his artist residency in Kyoto\, Noritake created a new body of work inspired by the city’s rich traditions\, the people he met\, the objects he encountered\, and the landscapes he explored. \nWalking through Kyoto—a city deeply rooted in culture and history—he experienced its unique scenery\, everyday life\, and meaningful encounters. Each interaction and experience gradually took shape as an illustration\, with individual moments connecting to form a larger narrative. Alongside DJ Junia\, he co-hosted the event “KILLING FLOOR” at club noon.\nHe also co-founded the event “JUNKERS” with DJ James\, among many other roots music events centered around blues\, based in Osaka. DESCRIPTION:JONNY NEMETZ (Edition Hawara) \nJonny Nemetz is co-founder of Edition Hawara and its sister label Hawara International\, reissuing forgotten musical gems — from Austria and around the world\, respectively — from the 1970s and 80s.\nBeyond his label work\, Jonny has been a staple of Vienna’s dance music scene since the late 1990s. Originally part of the Deephousemafia collective\, he went on to release several house records in the 2000s as a member of the Pepita Project. I think accepting diverse cultures and perspectives is what leads to genuine human kindness. \nA place visited by so many travelers may be a city that has nurtured kindness in just as many hearts. \nKyoto is a special destination for people from around the world\, as well as for those of us from Japan.
